About
I was born in 1960 and raised in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, a small town about half way between
Harrisburg and Philadelphia. I grew up in an artistic family. My father Richard, (1919-1985) taught
me wood working and an appreciation of nature. My sister Ruth, (1951-1999) a professional fine
artist and carver, while earning her degree in fine art from Kutzstown State University,
enthralled me with drawing and painting. Ruth later taught me to carve and was my mentor and
inspiration.

I earned an associate degree in commercial art from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

In 1987, as a self employed artist and wood carver, I moved to West Virginia. I was fortunate to
be able to meet and study with Joseph Jesselli, a master guitar maker and carver, for five years.
I learned from Joseph the art of guitar making, inlay and carving of the old school.

The majority of my work is done for private collectors on a commission basis. I work from my
wood shop / art studio, located in the home that my wife Sheila and I share.

I realize that God has blessed me with my opportunities, talent and the love of family and
friends. Thanks, praise and glory be to God forever through Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen.
